You’ve worked with Jennifer and Stefanie. What did you enjoy most about working with them?
It was an absolute pleasure working with Jennifer. She made the editing process seamless for me. Her expertise and knowledge helped enhance my novel. Because this was my first novel, Jennifer gave me the confidence to go forward with publishing my story.
Stefanie was amazing to work with. She pointed out flaws in my storyline and provided good criticism, which was a huge advantage in helping me complete The Royal Hacker.
What made you choose Red Adept Editing?
After careful research of various editors, including the ones my favorite authors used, I decided to try Red Adept Editing. The editors at Red Adept are extremely professional and helpful. Without a doubt, I confidently would recommend Red Adept Editing to my fellow authors. I look forward to working with them on my next novel, Undercover Hacker.
What inspired you to start a writing career?
My love of reading inspired me to write stories. I think loving reading and then writing is kind of a natural progression. One day, I decided to start writing. The words poured out, and it felt good to express myself through writing.
Do you have a favorite place or time of day to write?
I work full time as an IT manager during the week. Therefore, my time for writing is usually done in the living room during the evenings and weekends while my husband is watching TV.
Do you like to plan before you write? Or do you prefer to start and see where the story goes? Do you have the next White Hat book planned?
When I end each White Hat book, I already have thoughts and ideas for the next one. I make notes of what I want in each chapter. I listen to my characters and write their story. Sometimes, my characters go rouge and change the ending for me.
My next White Hat Book, Undercover Hacker, is planned out.
What part of self-publishing do you enjoy the most?
Self-publishing makes it easy for me to get my stories to readers on my time. In addition, it lets me tell the story I want the readers to hear.
You have some great covers. Who does your cover work?
Cassey Roop is my hero. The covers she creates completes my inspirations and attracts readers to my books.
What’s your favorite college sports team?
None other than the University of Central Florida. Go Knights!
What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t force the story; let your characters guide you. Write what you enjoy.
